Meet the Board

President
My name is Ben Uher, and along with my wife Amanda, we’ve been proud homeowners in the Bear Lake community since 2021. While we permanently reside in Mequon, Wisconsin, we try to spend as much
time as possible at Bear Lake throughout the year – and are currently living here full-time through the
spring as we build a new home.
Professionally, I serve as Director of SAP Security & Compliance at NTT DATA, Inc., where I lead teams
focusing on deploying Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) software and delivering managed
services for SAP customers throughout the globe.
I’m pleased to take on the role of President, succeeding Rick, who dedicated over a decade of service to
the board.
As a new member of the board and community, I look forward to learning from others, building new relationships, and continuing the great work that’s already been done.
Amanda and I have felt incredibly welcomed by the community, and I’m excited to give back by
supporting initiatives that preserve the lake and surrounding area, enhancing the overall experience for residents and visitors alike.

Vice President
Welcome to our corner of Bear Lake! My husband, Dusty, and I moved here in the spring of 2024 and have felt warmly embraced by this lovely community. We are proud parents of four wonderful children: Teagan, Colton, Hayden, and Braelyn.
Professionally, I have over 25 years of experience as an Executive Director in various assisted living facilities and am finishing my Master's Degree in Public Administration this fall, with plans to pursue additional degrees in the future. I currently serve as the 2025 Chair of Waupaca Area Chamber of Commerce (WACC) Ambassadors and sit on the Board of Directors for WACC. In my spare time, I enjoy camping, spending quality time with family and friends, and honing in on my creativity.
We look forward to making lasting memories and connections in this beautiful area!

Treasurer/Secretary
I grew up in Oshkosh and graduated from Oshkosh West High School in 1975 before earning an Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy. In 1977, I moved to Eau Claire, where I worked as an Economic Support Specialist for the county, serving the elderly and disabled community. In 2012, I made the Bear Lake area my permanent home, where my siblings and I continue to share a small family cottage on the lake.
Today, I serve as the Royalton Town Clerk. My husband, Brian, and I live along the Little Wolf River, where he stays busy maintaining the township cemeteries. Together, we have three wonderful children—“yours, mine, and ours,” as I like to say—and are proud grandparents to two beautiful granddaughters.

Director
My home is in Oregon, WI where I live with my wife Carol. We have three children and four grandchildren. I've been retired for 10 years after serving as Public Works Director for 41 years in the Village of Oregon. We purchased our property on the West end of Bear Lake 27 years ago. We love this area and have been coming here for 50 plus years. It's been my pleasure to serve on the BLPA Board for the past nine years.

Director
Andy is a happily retired design and manufacturing engineer who insists he "married the best wife in the world." Over the years, he has worn many hats: husband, father, Boy Scout, Girl Scout, and gardener, always with enthusiasm and a dash of humor.
Whether tending a vegetable patch or tackling a complex project, he approaches life with curiosity, gratitude, and the belief that family is the best adventure of all.

I am married with four children and one grandchild, and I am retired from St. Peter Lutheran School. As a third-generation owner of our family cottage on Bear Lake, I cherish the time I spend there with family and friends. I enjoy geocaching, playing cards, watching the Brewers, and traveling. I also volunteer at the local food pantry, which is a rewarding way to give back to the community.
